HHANGER’s First Full Store Display Customization Project for a Saudi Thobe Brand
  1. Overview
In 2025, HHANGER received an order from a Saudi Arabian thobe (long robe) brand. It was a full custom project with branded dust bags, hangers, labels, gift bags, and shopping bags. After repeated price negotiations and sample confirmations, we finally got the customer to confirm the dust cover order first—a trial order of 3,000 dust bags. This was our first time providing full store display customization for a Saudi customer.
  1. Customer Requirements Communication
The customer expressed recognition of our expertise and shared many of their usage requirements and goals with us. They also gave us a lot of suggestions. We found that the customer values clear written confirmation of material, size, color, logo, packaging, MOQ, lead time, payment terms, and Incoterms. This gave us a very clear understanding of their business plan.
  1. Sample Development and Solution Confirmation
The customer also sent us a set of Arabian thobe samples. This showed us their serious attitude and made us determined to do a good job in helping them complete the design and service of their branded supporting products.
We designed a thobe dust cover focused on the end customer’s user experience: foldable, easy to carry, and easy to store. We first confirmed the design drawings. Then the customer paid the sample fee. We tested the actual use effect of black, gray, white, and off-white non-woven fabric dust covers. Finally, we confirmed a 1.6-meter white dust cover that is foldable, has a visible/clear window, features a custom logo, and comes with a handle.
At the same time, we also developed a matching dust-proof shopping bag set and a flat-shoulder hanger for thobe display. The customer was very detailed and serious about the display effect of their own brand store. This left a deep impression on us about Saudi businessmen.
  1. Price Negotiation and Confirmation
The customer was a very capable business negotiator. Through repeated negotiations, they learned our price floor. Based on different business strategies, they finally used a 3,000-unit MOQ order to enjoy the best quotation for large-volume long-term orders. They successfully signed a purchase contract with us.
We confirmed a 35-day production time and T/T payment based on FOB Qingdao terms.
This negotiation style is completely different from the standard operating practices of European and American customers. Although we did not make the profit we should have on the first order, ups and downs are normal in business. We had to pay for our lack of experience.
  1. Order Documentation Preparation
During order production, we learned that the customer’s end-market access requirements meant we needed to provide Arabic/English labels, SASO/SABER compliance awareness, complete export documents, batch consistency, and QIMA inspection/certification. This was another extra expense. The process of gaining experience often comes with a price, and we accepted this as part of our learning.
  1. Export Process
After order confirmation, we received the document requirements. While we were discussing payment terms with the customer, the project was paused for about three months because the customer’s purchasing manager was replaced. It was a worrying period for us. After an internal meeting, our sales team decided to proceed with the QIMA inspection sample process and complete our part of the order, trusting that the customer would find their way. We changed the metal clips twice to meet the lead-free and nickel-free requirements. After the QIMA inspection was completed, we got the stock ready for shipment in 25 days, as promised. Luckily, the new purchasing director got back to me, and we finally completed the longest order cycle since we began exporting.
In September 2026, our final custom dust bags passed QIMA inspection/certification and met the brand’s quality and packaging requirements. The bulk goods were successfully exported to Saudi Arabia.

  1. Conclusion
TThis was a long-cycle strategic trial order. The first order required additional investment in compliance, sampling, and market access. It gave HHANGER valuable experience in Saudi market entry, QIMA inspection, lead-free/nickel-free hardware requirements, and cross-cultural project management.continuously learning about new needs and market requirements is very interesting. We have added another flag—Saudi Arabia—to our foreign trade export map for hangers and store display accessories.
The long order process helped us understand that customers in the Arab world have different schedules, holidays, and business customs from those in other regions. It also helped us understand Saudi Arabia’s customs certification requirements for daily-use products entering the market. We are very grateful for the customer’s calmness and cooperation throughout the entire process.

Lab testing: harmful substances (formaldehyde, azo dyes, heavy metals), color fastness, fiber composition, and physical strength. (it needs full products as samples to test)

During Ramadan, we arrange lead time with extra buffer. We recommend with the client placing orders early and completing production/shipment before Ramadan or Eid if possible.
